A lady shopkeeper allows her customers 10% discount on the marked price ofthe goods and still gets a profit of 25%. What is the cost price of a fan for her marked at Rs. 1250?
Solution
Transcript
Given,
MP of the fan = Rs 1250
Profit = 25%
Discount = 10%
Discount allowed = 10/100 × 1250
= Rs 125
So, SP of the shoes = (1250 - 125) = Rs 1125
By using the formula,
CP = 100/(100 + gain%) × SP
= 100/(100 + 25) × 1125
= 100/125 × 1125
= Rs 900
∴ Cost price of the fan is Rs 900
"hello students i am rita your mass leader tutor and today's question is a lady shopkeeper allows her customers 10 percent discount on the month price of the goods and still gets a profit of 25 what is the cost price of a fan for her marked at rupees 1250 so in this question mark price is given to us mark price is equal to rupees 1250 and the discount is given to us discount is 10 so first of all we find the selling price as we know the selling price is equal to marked price minus discount so mark price is 1250 and discount is ten percent off marked price so zeros cancel out each other so one thousand two fifty one thousand two fifty minus one twenty five we got 11 125 rupees so this is our sp 1125 now we got the sp sp is rupees 1100 and the profit is 25 percent now we find the cp now we apply the formula of cp 100 divided by 100 plus profit percent into sp now 100 divided by 100 plus profit it means 100 plus 25 we got 125 into sp is one one two five now 25 folds are in 25 so the cost price is equal to rupees 900 so this is our answer i hope you like this video so please subscribe video for more updates and do comment your questions thank you "
