Rhesus macaques have brown hair. However, a mutation for hair color has resulted in 2% of all rhesus macaques having blonde hair. Rhesus macaques are originally from Asia but in the 1930s, researchers brought a small population of monkeys to an island off the coast of Puerto Rico. In this population, 10% of monkeys had blonde hair. Today, 15% of this monkey population in Puerto Rico have blonde hair. How might genetic drift have contributed to the increase in the frequency of blonde hair in this rhesus macaque population
